Resilience Training with Karl J Shackelford, MDiv, BCCC
February 14, 2019 Doors open at 6:15 pm Lecture 7-9 pm
Sometimes this happens in a 1:1 counseling conversation, and other times in the form of a group presentation. First responders, hospitals, clinics, hospices, educational institutions, businesses, corporations or non-profit organizations – he is comfortable in front of them all.
Karl finds the people in our world most passionate about making a difference in the lives of others some of the worst at caring for themselves. Flight attendants have taught us over the years we have to take care of ourselves before we can take care of others. Boundaries, self-care, and skills for empathic caregiving are keys for managing professional anxiety.
Grief & Loss Counseling
Losing someone you love creates a pain like you’ve never experienced before. When you find yourself unable to move forward, you need help with healing from grief. He has been helping people navigate this journey for years, and would be happy to walk through it with you.
If you need help in a broken relationship, or simply want to strengthen one, he has the skills and training to bring new insights and solutions you may not have seen. One of his most fun couples counseling arrangements is guiding a couple toward marriage through pre-marriage counseling. He also has found great success with adolescents and families where help is needed on a range of issues.
